Welcome to a new issue of Tarot Tips!
And a special welcome to our new readers.

We recently learned the true meaning of "Thanksgivukkah"
(the confluence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah that happens
once every 8,000 years). And that's a combination of
Thanks and Oy Vey!

If you're a Tarot Tips subscriber, you probably know about
the 80% off special we ran on all our audio mp3 courses in
celebration of this once-in-a-lifetime event. Well, the other
thing we learned was just how much we've outgrown our
current server capacity. The ensuing chaos was LEGEN...
wait for it... DARY! (Yes, we're fans of How I Met Your
Mother.)

We'll be doing a major server upgrade soon, but in the
meantime, we extended the special through tomorrow,
December 2nd. That just happens to be Wald's birthday,
so we're keeping the celebration going! To take advantage
of the savings, enter coupon code 8KHOLIDAY when
you check out. That covers all mp3 audio courses and
the Tarot Meditations Bundle.

If you run into trouble with our store, just email us at
tarot@tarotschool.com and we'll take care of you through
PayPal and Dropbox. Here they come to save the day!
(Mighty Mouse music plays in the background. OK, so
maybe you didn't get the reference -- we're just a little
slap-happy over here at the moment.)

Anyway, we are grateful for the enthusiastic response,
and we've been blessed in other ways, too. Our
Monday night Tarot Salon has been a big success.
It's a great opportunity for us to be really creative
with our in-person classes, and we're enjoying it
very much.

And...

We're very excited to unveil the new poster art
for the 2014 Readers Studio by renowned
artist and deck creator, Robert M. Place! You'll
find it further down the page, and we think
you'll be as delighted as we are. (And if you
register this month, you can split the conference
fee into 3 easy payments!)

This month's Tarot Tip is a special technique by
guest contributor, Veronica Harrison. Take some
time with it and give yourself the gift of insight.

At this time of year, when the light is growing dim (or
getting brighter, for those in the Southern Hemisphere!),
the King of Wands will help light your fire. Check him
out in this month's Tarot Card Showcase section.
The Best Practices column offers some guidelines on
trademarks and copyrights. And we are delighted to offer
another Tarot School Aphorism (we hope you like
them!) and a tarot blog from the UK.

And one more thing...

Here are a couple of goodies from our colleagues
in the tarot community. They make great gifts
for yourself or a fellow tarot-lover:

  • James Ricklef has written a new book, which
  • is very close to his heart and perfect for the
holiday season! The Souls Journey: Finding
Spiritual Messages in the Tarot is available
    and for Kindle at http://tinyurl.com/ktaa4k7

  •  Ron Leong has let us know that the Tarot eCards
  • App is now FREE for iPhones and iPads.
The app includes the RWS2.0 Tarot,
Rider-Waite-Smith digital deck created just for
Tarot eCards. Access the App Store through
    iTunes and search for TaroteCards.

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

Yours truly on the tarot path,
    Ruth Ann, Wald & Gina

    Tarot Tip
    HIDDEN REVELATIONS TECHNIQUE
    by Veronica Harrison

Tarot has many dimensions. The cards speak to our minds,
hearts and spirits. Do we, though, as spiritual beings
having a human experience, know what is underneath those
    mysterious pictures?

What lies deep within our unconscious mind?
What lies under the sea of tarot images?
We can find out. Personal discovery rules!

Think of each tarot card in the deck as a collage of many
layers of ourselves and the universe at large. The imagery
of the cards are portals that can take us places and
eventually, through discovering the layers upon layers of
symbolism, we can arrive at a place of inner peace.

Every card can take us to our core, the core that is hidden
    within the depths of ourselves.

This technique is called Hidden Revelations.

The cards can take you places, but where? Although
experiences will vary from person to person, they all lead
to the core that it is our center.

What is different for each of us is our experience along the
way, and each experience can offer profound revelations.

    Here is the process:

      1. Sit comfortably in a chair.

      2. Close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths, inhaling through
your nose and exhaling out through your mouth. Do this
          3 times.

      3. While staying in a meditative state, open your eyes and
          take out your cards.

      4. Shuffle the cards and pull one. Keep the card face-down
          in front of you.

      5. Take one more deep breath and turn the card over.

      6. Let a symbol or image in the card catch your attention,
and wait for it to speak to you.

      7. What words do you hear? What do you see?

      8. Ask the image on the card, "Why am I here?"

      9. Wait for an answer.

    10. Now thank the image.

    11. Move on to another image you see in the card, and ask it
the following question: "Since I know why I'm here, what can
I do in this lifetime to strengthen my purpose?"

    12. Wait again for an answer, then thank the image.

    13. Staying with the same card, pick another image.

    14. Ask it the following question: "Since I know what I have
to learn in this life, what can you tell me about myself as
          I am at present?"

    15. Again wait for an answer, then thank the image.

    16. Stay with the same card and pick another image.
Ask it the following question: "What new insight can you
tell me about myself?" Again wait for an answer, then thank
          the image.

    17. While staying in a meditative state, let your eyes move
around the card until you spot an image you haven't noticed
before. Remember it, then close your eyes.

    18. Visualize the image you just saw. See it in your mind's
eye. Say to the image: "Lead me to my center, to my core
self, the part of me that is OK exactly the way it is."

    19. In your mind's eye, let the card grow to the size of a
          doorway. Then step through it.

    20. Let the image lead you down a flight of stairs. At the
bottom you find your core self. Take the time to see it
clearly, so you can remember it later.

    21. Go back up the stairs and through the door, taking the
          experience with you.

    22. Take 3 deep breaths, and when you are ready, return to
your normal waking state of being.

Know you can return there anytime you want a boost of
    positive energy!

    Tarot Card Showcase

In this section we will feature tidbits on a specific tarot card.
While there are many systems and decks to choose from in
the world of tarot, here we use the Universal Waite Tarot
    images and symbols.

    KING OF WANDS

Astrological Attribution: Leo - Fixed Fire
    Qabalistic Attribution: Fire of Fire
Esoteric Title: Lord of the Flame and of
the Lightning, King of the Spirits of Fire,
    King of the Salamanders

On the Waite-Smith version of the
King of Wands, a king is shown sitting
in a high-backed throne, decorated with
glyphs of salamanders and lions. The
throne is placed upon a platform rising
    from the earth.

The king is finely dressed, wearing a golden robe with patterns
that match the salamander logo of the throne. As King of the
Spirits of Fire, he wears a crown with flamed-shaped ornamentation.

The king holds a large wand in his right hand while the left
hand is clenched and rests in his lap. He seems to stare off
into the distance as a tiny salamander goes unnoticed below
    on the platform.

Traditionally, the King of Wands represents success or
failure on a grand scale. He is brilliant, charismatic and
self-assured. With complete conviction that he is always
right, he extinguishes doubt and permits no negativity in
his presence. He has inexhaustible energy and insists on
    having the last word.

Positive Keywords: Teacher, visionary, magnificent entrepreneur.
    Loyal, generous, fearless.

Negative Keywords:  Gambler, tyrant. Vain, flashy, fierce,
    intolerant, boastful.

    Tarot Affirmation: I respect myself.

    Best Practices for Professional Readers
A WORD ON TRADEMARKS AND COPYRIGHTS

    By Gina Thies

Planning and designing your website, newsletter or blog
means writing lots of content and coming up with interesting
copy that will hold your audience's attention and keep them
up to date on what you are doing. As you create content and
design for your site, you might be tempted to snag text,
graphics, video clips or artwork that may be copyrighted.

Although copying someone's work may be tempting, or
even an attempt to flatter the creator, you may need to
obtain permission to use that content before adding it to
    your marketing material or website.

    So what is a copyright?

According to the website www.copyright.gov, "a copyright
is a form of protection grounded in the U.S. Constitution and
granted by law for original works of authorship fixed in a
    tangible medium of expression."

This legal protection covers published and unpublished
    work equally.

Also according to www.copyright.gov, "a trademark protects
words, phrases, symbols, or designs identifying the source
of the goods or services of one party and distinguishing
    them from those of others."

One of the broadest and simplest ways to think about
copyrights is that facts cannot be copyrighted, but how
those facts are presented and ideas used to express those
    facts may be protected.

Copyright and trademark laws are very complex.
To learn more about these laws, contact a lawyer or
other legal specialist to find out how these laws apply
if you are in doubt about the material you are using.

Questions arise when developing or transitioning
to professional Tarot Reading status to earn
income. These can range from "How can I make
money with Tarot?" and "How do I get started?"
to more complex technical and business questions.
You may already be up and running and have
questions about how to enhance or ramp up your
business. We would love to hear from you. Send any
questions, or interest in a future class on the
    Business of Tarot, to tarot@tarotschool.com.
