We're excited to introduce Divination Day to the Readers Studio event calendar! This all-day conference on Thursday, April 23rd will focus on three alternative kinds of divination. They are fascinating studies all by themselves, but can also be a great complement to your tarot readings. Divination Day is meant to introduce you to topics or techniques you may never have tried before. You don't need to know anything about them in advance but if you do, there will still be new things to learn! These sessions are taught by leading teachers in each field who are excited to share their passions and bring you their latest discoveries! We predict you'll have a wonderful time! ![]() ![]() Each and every person attending Divination Day will learn the art of divining with tealeaves! We will go through the beginnings of tea leaf reading in it's ancient form, and see how far we have come now to it's modern day form. You'll learn the symbology of tea leaf divination, and how you can use tea leaf reading as an everyday tool for forecasting. We'll also explore how to use tea leaf reading cards and fortune teller teacups. This will be hands on-session, and guess what? You don't even have to be a tea drinker to take part in all the fun stuff. So all you coffee drinkers have no fear, you too get to play and you don't even have to take one sip of tea. This workshop will highlight the many symbols that I see repeatedly come up in tea cups from my many varied clients over the years. I do hope you come to enjoy the discovery of the art of tea leaf reading and the joy and discovery you shall find in your own readings — whether it's in the form of traditional tea cups, tea leaf reading cards or my very own tea leaf reading charm kits.
About Karin Dalton-Smith I was a child growing up in the 1960s - 1970s. I have very vague memories of my mother and her friends (we called Aunties) all having a morning tea and having giggles about what was left in a cup. I was raised in a little state of Australia called Tasmania and knew of a few well known tea leaf readers and when I was young I went along to see a couple of them with my friends. It was nearly always an "old lady thing" back then. I was the youngest of five children and I got to stay longer with my mum while the others had to go to school, so my experiences are more ingrained than those of my siblings. I had many strange experiences as a child that I could only describe as déjà vu or "I've been here before" moments. I had an extreme imagination when I was little and often had my imaginary friend. I'm not sure if my friend was really in my imagination or did I really have friendly spirits with me. Over the years I have studied many tea cups and all the symbols that kept coming up repeatedly, influencing every part of our modern day lives.

Originating in China as far back as the twelfth century, it is a very popular game, especially in the Caribbean. Come learn the art of Domino divination, a tool in which you read the combination of the tiles and divine the past present and future. I'll share my experiences with my father learning the intricacies of the strategic game of dominoes. A set of mini-dominoes will be provided but if you have a favorite set of your own, feel free to bring it and let's get divining!!
