Street Reading

The Universe Says...Wald and I like to take walks after midnight when the weather is nice.Yesterday I finally bought a digital camera and decided to take it along in case I spotted a picture worth taking. The Universe obliged by presenting three face-down playing cards in the middle of the street!

This is the one I turned over.

Anyone care to offer an interpretation of this message from the Universe?

If you know how to read standard playing cards, you can read it as is. If not, I would translate the Jack of Diamonds to the Knight of Pentacles in tarot.

  1. Hi Ruth Ann, seeing no-one else has had a go, I will!
I am a newbie as you know, so I did a “voice in the card” to see what I came up with. I looked at the Knight of Pentacles and what caught and held my attention was the significance pairs in the card. Two straps with knots at the end over the back of the horse, two spur-like symbols on the Knight’s leg armour, the two prominent features of the horse’s headdress, two buttons on the bridle, and the top of the knight’s helmet has two prominent black lines. The fallowed field to the left shows two trees side by side, and the hills in the background show two prominent peaks. When I looked again at the Jack of Diamonds, I immediately saw the two diamond symbols at the top left of the card - I hadn’t noticed that before. I believe the universe is telling you that the number 2 is very prominent in your life at this time.

  2. Hi Pamella,

That’s wonderful! I must say, as familiar as I am with the Knight of Pentacles, I never noticed all those pairings. The Voice in the Card is such a wonderful exercise for noticing the details with a fresh perspective and I thank you for that!

I’ve always been fond of the number 2 and will pay attention to the ways it manifests now.

    Hugs,

  3. Funny, I never got around to reading some of these until recently. I don’t know much about reading playing cards, but I’ve always looked at the Knight of Pentacles to be a fortunate card to receive. Growth of any kind, but especially financial, may appear to be slow (or even not happening at all). Yet, this knight never fails to arrive and perseverance will bring great results. I always look at this card as the ’slow, but steady, wins the race’ card and when it appears eventual success in any endeavor is guaranteed.

I also can’t help noticing that in this playing card that the figure (in both mirror images) is holding a sword. So, I see an intuitive connection to the Knight of Swords (maybe success wil come faster than expected) or even to Justice (because of the letter ‘J’).
